Please enjoy our latest item, a photo report from January 8th, 2012, the last day of Holidays at the Disneyland Resort:
It was the last day to see the majority of the Christmas decorations up around the resort
Everything on Main Street from Carnation Cafe to Refreshment Corner is now closed for refurbishment and walled off
January 8th was the last day to ride Haunted Mansion Holiday. It's currently closed for the transfer back to the original version of the attraction
It was my first time on Pirates of the Caribbean since it re-opened from the 3 month-long refurbishment
Davy Jones and Blackbeard now alternate with one and other on the mist screen in Pirates of the Caribbean. See the change in this HD video
The dock has been widened and reconfigured to better handle wheelchairs. I must say it's a welcomed improvement when you try to get out of the attraction
Wreaths made of bones in Port Royal
One final look at the over-the-top, but great Christmas decorations in New Orleans Square
From January 6th to the 8th, Disney held a celebration of Three Kings Day in Frontierland's Zocalo Park
The extra decorations add a different kind of festive flair
A nice sign with the Spanish name for Three Kings Day
This was at Rancho del Zocalo
The Mariachi Divas, who are usually over at Pacific Wharf in DCA, where performing throughout the event
Close-up of the flags hung over Zocalo Park
This sign is usually up during Halloween Time for Dia de Los Muertos (The Day of the Dead)
And there they are, the Three Kings
A very different kind of garland at Rancho del Zocalo
Last Sunday was also the last day to ride the Matterhorn Bobsleds before it closed for a huge refurbishment that has engulfed the mountain in scaffolding. It's currently scheduled to re-open on June 15th with all new ride vehicles
The Soundsational drummers donned Toy Soldier outfits for the holidays
it's a small world holiday remains open until January 22nd
They usually wait until The Haunted Mansion is back online to close it's a small world holiday
I believe these kind of snowflakes in the Goodbye room are new this year
Taking a ride on the Monorail... I tried to get some shots of the Buena Vista Street construction
You can see the temporary walkway and some new trees
The Cupcake Store is returning to Downtown Disney at this location
I love this River Country 9 inch Vinylmation available at D Street!
A modified menu at the La Brea Bakery at a temporary entrance while half of the restaurant is being remodeled
The table service part of the restaurant remains open while the counter service side is closed
Should be the first week of April
Checking out the framing on the new Buena Vista Street buildings from ground level
Nothing more relaxing than sitting down in Paradise Gardens and drinking a nice, cold Coca-Cola :-)
The Shops of the Boardwalk are finally getting new facades to better match with the new theme of Paradise Pier
The Chase machine has been moved to just in front of the construction walls
The awnings have been removed from this part of the facade
The clown is gone and magic is hopefully being built under those tarps!
A lovely shot of The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure from Mickey's Fun Wheel
The backside of Cars Land rising behind the California Screamin' loading station
I'm glad they took the time to make the backside look like rock too
A huge line to get ice cream at Paradise Pier Ice Cream Co.!
Part of the Soarin' Over California sign appeared to have fallen off. There were pretty bad winds the night before, so that might be the explaination
A look at a practically tarp-free Carthay Circle Theater
You can just about make out the theater marque through the tarps
A closer look
New trees
More new trees
2012 Duffy
And 2012 Mickey and Minnie plush
Love this sign in Off the Page! Anything TangledĀ = Awesome!
Some of the Disneyland Railroad merchandise from the new Trains of Disney exhibit at The Disney Gallery is now also available at Off the Page
Heading out of DCA
One more look at Buena Vista Street construction over the walls
No more garland after last Sunday :-(
Some repaving work at one of the bus unloading areas
And we close this photo report with a beautiful sunset over the Toy Story parking lot
