- 2-12-2012

Please enjoy our latest item, a photo report from February 5th, 2012:
A strangely long line to get on a Toy Story shuttle for a Sunday in February
The interior of the Disneyana Shop has been remodeled with new wallpaper
It looks a lot fancier now. A nice improvement!
I don't think that exit sign was there before
My first time walking down Main Street USA since they took all of the Christmas decorations down. Always a bit jarring at first. It was also my first time hearing the new music loop, and I must say I'm a huge fan of it!
Work continues on all of the establishments on the northwest corner of Main Street
The scaffolding on the Matterhorn is quite an eyesore, but is actually quite cool at the same time
The "Scafflehorn" as seen from Tomorrowland
Getting up close to the Matterhorn
Walls are up around about half of the mountain
A tunnel has been set up between the Matterhorn and the Submarine Lagoon to prevent any debris from falling on guests
There was a stage set up in front of it's a small world. Never found out why it was there
Incidentally, it's a small world has reopened in its regular form
They weren't using this part of the queue, probably due to the stage
Looking at the side of the stage, near the it's a small world Toy Shoppe
I ordered a side of french fries at the Village Haus, and they came in a generic box, rather than a Disney Parks branded mess
Big Thunder Ranch is all back to normal
However the Barbecue has kept a bit of winter flair
The signs aren't the Christmas ones, rather ones focussing on winter (minus Christmas)
However, the petting zoo side is completely free of seasonal decorations
Also back to normal is The Haunted Mansion
People must have been excited to have it back, as I waited in a 30 minute line for it. One of the longest waits I've ever seen for the regular version of the Mansion
Some photos of the stretching room
Mardi Gras decorations were up in New Orleans Square in preparation for the New Orleans Bayou Bash month-long event that started this past Friday
Some of the decorations are retained from Christmas, like these lamp-post decorations
The Cafe Orleans entrance has moved to the other side of the building, helping to suppress the supreme congestion often found in that part of New Orleans Square
Valentines Day decorations are up in Town Square
The flowers reflect the colors of the season
Over at Disney California Adventure, Buena Vista Street construction continues at a feverish pace
The Carthay Circle area is looking very complete now with the trees installed
Palm trees have been added right by the side of the Carthay Circle Theater
Exterior work has begun on the new Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory replacing the Mission Tortilla Factory
Construction walls are still up along the Performance Corridor in Paradise Pier, so it can be repaved
This creates a very narrow walk-way between the walls and The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure queue
Grizzly River Run is closed for a month-long refurbishment and tarps are up around the building at the beginning of the lift-hill
The water has been completely drained
Over at Downtown Disney, some work is going on in front of Catal
Special NFL Super Bowl Vinylmation were available at D Street
Animation #2 was recently released. This series features a few interesting choices, like John Henry and Kim Possible...
You can also get a combo-pack which features Jiminy Cricket and any one of the figures above
This two-pack featuring Bernard and Bianca from The Rescuers is part of Animation #2
The temporary LEGO Store has opened in the old home of Island Charters (right next to D Street)
Some pretty substantial decorations for a temporary store
A look inside
The closed LEGO Store down the way
Take a look at what they're doing to the exterior of the store. It's actually quite impressive!
The coolest construction walls I've seen in Downtown Disney
"One Block Down" Get it...? :P
Thanks to our own Kenny Siegel, my family and I got to visit the E Ticket Club at the Disneyland Hotel
A look inside the lovely club
The view is absolutely phenomenal!
You can see pretty much all of the Disneyland Resort!
And it's just as cool at night!
On the same floor as the E-Ticket Club are most of the Disneyland Hotel's themed suites, including the Adventureland Suite
And the Mickey Mouse Penthouse
The door happened to be open as we walked by, so I snapped this quick photo
Awesome wallpaper in the lobby restroom of the Adventure Tower
The new pool area looks spectacular at night!
One of the most celebrated romantic classics of all time, Gone with the Wind, is playing at the AMC Theatres in Downtown Disney from February 10-16th in celebration of Valentines Day
Walking by the LEGO Store again, this time at night
The two most recent Vinylmation Jr. series: it's a small world...
And This and That
A special Valentines Day Vinylmation for sale
An awesome new Disneyland Resort T-shirt. A really cool design!
The design is featured on many different products
Work continues on the remodel of the La Brea Bakery
It's hard to see in this photo, but tarps now completely cover the left side of the building and the area around it
Thanks for viewing this photo report!
