Photo Report: May 30th, 2012 - Carthay Circle Theatre and Fountain, Mad T Party During the Daytime, New Cove Bar Decorations...
Please enjoy our latest item, a photo report from May 30th, 2012:
The day after this report goes live, the Matterhorn will finally return to thrill Disneyland's guests!
Say it in the most annoying Scottish accent you can imagine: "If you had a chance to change your fate, would ya?"
The All American Roundup has taken over Big Thunder Ranch
Plenty of Americana to be found
Over at Disney California Adventure, lots of Buena Vista Street signage can be seen over the construction walls
Still a strange name...
I love how they've worked ice cream into the architecture of Clarabelle's Hand-Scooped Ice Cream
Looking down Buena Vista Street
And the other side
Now for some artsy shots of the beautiful Carthay Circle Fountain
Heading over to the Carthay Circle Theatre for a look around its beautiful premises
A great way to tie Buena Vista Street with Hollywood Land
The old Candy Shoppe facade for Greetings from California has been repainted and is now the entrance to the jewelry section of Elias and Company
Some Mad T Party merchandise in Gone Hollywood
Speaking of the Mad T Party, let's take a look at how the set-up for this nighttime dance party looks during the day
The stage is a lot bigger than I thought it would be!
The Drink Me bar
They did put a lot of effort into the decorations. Props for that
The menu for the Drink Me bar
The House of Cards is another place to fuel up on some Fuze and other soft drinks
The secondary performance stage in front of the Mad Arcade
The entrance to the Mad Arcade, sadly only open while the party is going on
I like the marquee
Am I the only one who forgets that this water tower even exists sometimes?
The Stage 12 sign has been changed to reflect the Mad T Party design, much like they did with ElecTRONica
The third drink location is the Studio Catering Truck, all dressed up for the Mad T Party
The Ghirardelli building looks lovely with the Ornament Valley as a backdrop
Looking down the main street of Cars Land before guest previews had begun
The windmill at Fillmore's Taste-In seen from Pacific Wharf
Rita's Baja Blenders will be moving to a new location to free up space for seating that will have to be relocated because of the Cars Land entrance
That new location will be the former home of Dulce Aventura, which closed a few days ago (as of posting this report)
All tables will be moving over to make room for the entrance to Cars Land
The Cars Land rock work looks lovely and so real with these trees in the foreground
Looking at the new Paradise Pier billboards (well, this one isn't new, but it's still nice)
This is my personal favorite
Look closely and you'll notice a mistake. The image is overlaid twice, so you see the guy on the left's back twice and the image hangs over the border. This issue has since been fixed
New DCA souvenir cups
Let's take a look at the refurbished Cove Bar. The first thing you'll notice is that it finally has its own sign!
Dozens of these old looking signs now hang around the Cove Bar
There's a new beige color scheme as well
The chairs now feature a Mickey design on them
A sign showing where the entrance is and also notifying guests that there will be a cover charge added to your bill if you're eating at the Cove Bar during World of Color
Back over at Disneyland, the new Carnation Cafe sign lit up at night
Patriotic banners decorate the lampposts up and down Main Street USA for the summer
The refurbished La Brea Bakery at night
