by David Spencer
Please enjoy our latest item, a photo report from March 2017, featuring the Star Wars Land and Rivers of America construction, the Red Rose Taverne, the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, and more!
Preferred parking is available for a hefty price tag at Mickey & Friends, getting you closer to the escalators
Let's take a look at Star Wars Land construction, which is really coming along!
The frames for two AT-ATs clearly visible inside this building!
Remember to catch the Main Street Electrical Parade through June 18th. It's the hot ticket at the moment!
A few months ago, the security checks were moved to Mickey & Friends, and things can get really backed up if all tents aren't open
The tram route was slightly modified
Welcome to Disneyland!
Some Fantasmic equipment under cover as overnight rehearsals have begun
New ropes being installed on the Sailing Ship Columbia for the rumored new Pirates of the Caribbean scene in Fantasmic
Lafitte's Tavern on Tom Sawyer Island has a fantastic new color scheme
This new boat has been docked on the island to cover up some new Fantasmic equipment during the day
This birdhouse recently installed at The Haunted Mansion has been causing a bit of controversy. It appears broken which goes against Walt's wishes that "we'll take care of the outside, and we'll let the ghosts take care of the inside"
MaxPass scanners have been installed at not only The Haunted Mansion, but also all other FastPass attractions in both parks
Now lets visit the Red Rose Taverne, the new Beauty and the Beast themed makeover of the Village Haus
This restaurant with its updated menu has been commanding huge lines since it opened!
All the decor inside has been updated to Beauty and the Beast items, from both the animated and live action versions
Some of the wall art takes its cue from the previous Pinocchio artwork
Mrs. Potts from the live action film
But stained glass artwork from the original animated film
Lumierre in live action style
Of course, Gaston uses antlers in all of his decorating
The ordering area remains mostly the same as before, save for some new artwork replacing the gorgeous Pleasure Island mural from before
All of the Village Haus signs have simply been covered over by these Red Rose Taverne banners
You can't have a Beauty and the Beast restaurant without the Grey Stuff! Try it, it's delicious!
The menu also features some unique new flatbread pizzas
Faux stained glass windows on the exterior of the Taverne
The Castle Heraldry Shop recently closed for good. There's no official word yet on what will come of the space, but rumors point towards Peter Pan's Flight getting FastPass and this area being used for distribution
The Matterhorn Bobsleds are closed for refurbishment through April 27th
When the ride returns, it will feature FastPass for the first time
Snow White's Grotto is receiving some TLC
Moving over to Disney California Adventure, where a good portion of the Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! facade has been revealed (more so in fact since these photos were taken)
The Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival continues through April 16th, and this year, it's bigger and better than ever before!
There are over a dozen Marketplaces, including one about the most important food group: BACON!
This Marketplace features an interesting artichoke dessert
Grizzly River Run has recently reopened from its annual refurbishment
With the addition of MaxPass, Toy Story Midway Mania will also be receiving FastPass for the first time. The queue has been reconfigured in anticipation of FastPass, and the MaxPass scanners have been installed
Two more at the merge point
